PSV Eindhoven’s efforts to sign Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite on a permanent basis are continuing to hit the buffers, with the Blues’ demands still too high.

That’s according to Voetbal International, relayed by MSN, who say Everton are ‘still too high up the tree’ for PSV to make his loan move permanent.

Branthwaite has been on loan with the Dutch side since the summer, when Everton let him leave on a temporary basis so he could get regular game time and continue his development.

He’s established himself as a first-team regular under Ruud van Nistelrooy, putting in a series of impressive performances under the Dutchman this year.

PSV have made it clear they would like to keep the defender on a permanent basis and talks have been underway with Everton for some time, but the Toffees have not been playing ball.

It’s been stated on several occasions that their valuation of Branthwaite is too much for PSV, and Voetbal International back that up.

They say that PSV ‘do want to continue longer’ with the player but Everton are not making that possible as they are ‘still too high up in the tree’ to make a permanent transfer possible at this point.

Thus, he appears to be on his way back to Goodison Park at the end of the season, unless the Dutch side suddenly come into more money or Everton decide to lower their demands considerably.
