Everton star Romelu Lukaku has urged the club and Ronald Koeman to bring in some new faces during January. Everton signed Morgan Schneiderlin from Manchester United last week, but are still expected to spend more before the deadline.

Speaking to Talksport today, Lukaku was asked how Everton will fare in the second half of the season. The Belgian international said the team has now turned things around after a disappointing start to the season, and he thinks bringing in new recruits could benefit them until the end of the season.

“After the first half of the season we have turned things around. If we can bring in some transfers then this could change the situation,” said the Everton forward.

Everton didn’t make the best of starts to the season, but in recent weeks they recorded some impressive victories. Just before Christmas Koeman’s side beat Arsenal 2-1, and last weekend they demolished Manchester City 4-0.

Everton currently lie 7th in the Premier League table, but breaking into the top six could be beyond them this season, new recruits or not.
