Everton are ‘ready to do anything’ to sign forward Bamba Dieng from Marseille after seemingly missing out on Arnaut Danjuma.

That’s according to Foot Mercato, who say Everton have ‘burst onto the scene’ for the striker as they look to bolster their forward options before the end of the January transfer window.

The Blues had been set to announce the signing of Danjuma from Villarreal today but in a shock, last minute turn of events the Dutchman has refused to sign and is now instead on his way to Tottenham.

That will leave Everton scrambling to find alternatives as they desperately try to options up front to solve their goalscoring problems this season.

FM explain that has seen them turn their attention to Dieng, who had looked set to join Lorient as Marseille have offered him as part of a deal for striker Terem Moffi.

An agreement was reached between the player and the club but ‘doubt’ has been inserted because of the ‘approach of Everton’.

They want to sign him this month and have now made an approach, bolstered by the fact that Dieng ‘would rather join the Premier League’ than stay in Ligue 1.

There’s no mention of whether a bid has been made or anything of that nature as yet, just that Everton are interested and are suddenly making moves.

It’s a situation to therefore keep an eye on, particularly as Dieng seems to be interested in the move to England.
