Saturday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo’s Basque newspaper reports Real Sociedad interest in Dennis Cheryshev.
The club haven’t entered into talks with Villarreal yet, but the Russian international is a target as Real Sociedad look to improve their options on the left side of attack.
A problem for the Basque side is reported interest from Everton and Lyon. Both clubs are said to have ‘put their eyes on’ on the player and that would ‘undoubtedly’ see his price rise.
After a good World Cup, and given the Everton and Lyon interest, Mundo Deportivo believe Villarreal are looking for a €20m transfer fee.
But we’re not entirely convinced.
During the World Cup there were reports in Spain that Villarreal could look to cash in on the former Real Madrid player, given his performances for Russia. Everton were named as a side that may be interested and everything else has likely built from there.
If the Toffees were seriously interested this is a deal that wouldn’t be too hard to do, and they probably could have done so already.
