With the January transfer window approaching the Turkish media of course have again started to link Everton’s Oumar Niasse to Galatasaray.
The Senegelase striker has always been the popular figure with the Turkish media and they’ve linked him to almost every Turkish giant, but mostly with Galatasaray.
His Everton future is pretty much over after Ronald Koeman told him to find a new club in the summer and there were attempts from Turkish sides to sign him in the last window. Niasse is expected to leave Toffees, but according to Galatasaray CEO Levent Nazifoglu they are no longer interested.
Nazifoglu spoke to FutbolArena about possible incomings at Galatasaray in the new year, and most specifically the forward department. Nazifoglu was asked about reported interest for Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Oumar Niasse, to which he said:
”No, that’s not true. We’re not interested in both of them. We want players to have match fitness, we’ll target these kind of players. We need players that come and play straightaway. We can’t take that risk again.”
Trabzonspor are also interested in Niasse but Bordo-Mavililer is growing frustrated as Everton keep insisting that the loan fee for 6 months has to be over €2 million. Trabzonspor are now understood to be exploring other options and have already turned their attentions to Anderlecht’s Lukasz Teodoryzck.
That could be the same for Galatasaray, with Everton’s demands putting them off.
