Yerry Mina swapped Barcelona for Everton in 2018 and he struggled with injuries in his first season in the Premier League.
Things have improved for the Colombia international this campaign as he’s made 25 appearances in the league. He last featured for the Toffees in their 3-2 defeat to Arsenal on February 23rd.
Carlo Ancelotti has left the centre-back on the bench for the league tie against Manchester United and Chelsea this month.
Marca in Colombia reports those close to the 25-year-old are claiming Mina is in ‘perfect condition’ and his recent absence is ‘strictly a technical decision’.
Everton take on Liverpool at Goodison Park on March 16th following their 4-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Ancelotti is working on improving his side’s defence for the clash against the Reds and it’s claimed the Italian coach could hand Mina a berth in the starting XI.
According to Marca, Mina’s inclusion for the derby can help Everton gain defensive stability and he can also play a vital role in stopping Liverpool’s formidable attack.
Meanwhile, there are reports in England suggesting the Premier League could be suspended after Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta tested positive for Coronavirus.
Should that happen, Mina will have to wait longer to return to the pitch.
