Bologna are preparing themselves to be priced out of a move for Everton striker Moise Kean in January.

The young forward has struggled at Goodison Park since moving from Juventus in the summer transfer window, and Bologna are one of the clubs to have been linked with a move as they’re on the hunt for a striker and believe Kean fits the bill.

However, it seems they are bracing themselves for disappointment in their hunt if Corriere Dello Sport are to be believed.

They report that Kean is Bologna’s first choice and their manager’s preference, but any deal to take him to the club would be an ‘expensive loan’.

If such a deal is not possible for ‘economic reasons’ or otherwise, Bologna will instead turn their attentions elsewhere, specifically to Roma’s Nikola Kalinić.

That suggests they’ve already been in contact, perhaps through intermediaries, and it’s been made clear that if Everton were to sanction a deal for Kean, it wouldn’t be on the cheap.

That would make sense too. Given the effort Everton went to in order to secure Kean last summer, it’s unlikely they’d be willing to give up on him so soon, and certainly not for peanuts.
