Amadou Onana may not be in Everton’s squad for their Premier League match against Fulham on Tuesday evening, but there’s nothing to worry about with regards to a transfer.
The midfielder has picked up a knock following a tackle in his last match, and that’s why he’s out.
Onana has been linked with multiple clubs over the January window, with Newcastle United one of the Premier League sides said to be keen.
However, the Magpies and others simply haven’t had the finances needed to take him away from Goodison Park this month. Barcelona have also been repeatedly credited with interest, but their financial situation has been difficult for a while.
The Catalan media believe Onana will be an option in the summer, yet even then the cost could be a problem.
Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports that Onana is happy to stay, has a ‘fight to finish’, and wants to help Everton stay in the Premier League.
