On Thursday, we covered the emergence of a story we initially raised an eyebrow at, and yet it appears to be gaining some traction in Italy.
It involves Everton’s Moise Kean and a surprise return to Juventus after the young Italian failed to adapt to the Premier League and have the impact his €28m transfer warranted.
Then came the infamous lockdown party that didn’t exactly sit well with those in charge at Goodison Park, and even Carlo Ancelotti doesn’t appear to be capable of turning this one around.
With Juventus entering a new era under Andrea Pirlo, a couple of new forwards are expected to be brought in to help Cristiano Ronaldo and co., which is where Kean comes in.
Gazzetta dello Sport explain the youngster ‘can return with a particular agreement’, which they reveal would be a ‘two year loan with an obligation to buy’.
That gives them 24 months to put together the money for their former starlet while focusing on other areas.
The big question now is will Everton accept this?
They put a lot of money in the original deal to bring Kean to England, and with Ancelotti at the helm, there will have been hope the forward could reach his potential and feel more at home with an Italian speaking manager.
We’ll have to wait and see, but Juventus and Gazzetta certainly don’t think this is as ridiculous as it may sound on paper.
