Everton have joined the race to sign Fiorentina defender Igor Julio in the summer window, according to a report in Italy.
The centre-back was a regular for the Serie A side, making 42 appearances last season. His deal expires in 2024 and his club has an option to extend it by a year.
Fiorentina are focused on getting rid of the 25-year-old in this window. That’s at least what Tuttosport are reporting today and they add that the Brazilian has been ‘courted’ by both Everton and Villarreal.
The report states this could be an ‘important week’ for Fiorentina to ‘unlock the exit operations’ in defence and midfield. That’s all the report has to say about Igor and Everton.
Earlier claims had indicated Fulham are keen to sign Igor but Vocegiallorossa.it stated last Friday that the London club have cooled their interest in the defender and have shifted their focus on AS Roma’s Roger Ibañez.
Fulham could return, with Igor being the cheaper option.
On Sunday, TuttoMercatoWeb reported the South American seems to be ‘close’ to leaving Fiorentina in this window.
