Joshua Zirkzee has struggled for game time this season at Manchester United. He’s been linked with clubs including AS Roma and Everton, with the former seeming likelier right now.

Today’s Gazzetta dello Sport take a closer look at the Netherlands international.

The 24-year-old has just one start in the Premier League, falling behind in the pecking order at Manchester United.

The newspaper claim – relayed by SiamoLaRoma, that the Dutchman is eager to depart the Premier League. He wants to play at the World Cup in 2026 and only regular game time elsewhere can help him.

His situation is attracting attention. Everton and AS Roma owner Dan Friedkin held a meeting at the Italian club’s training ground yesterday.

During that, Roma’s approach in the transfer market was discussed. Zirkzee’s name was mentioned prominently.

The versatile attacker is of interest to the Giallorossi, who want to sign him on loan in January.

Zirkzee’s current wage of €3.6m is not affordable for Roma. But a contribution from Manchester United will go a long way in securing the move.

Gian Piero Gasperini wanted to sign the player during his time at Atalanta. He is said to be a fan of Zirkzee’s profile and sees him as a good fit for his system.

The UK press has also linked Everton with a move for the forward.
