With Carlo Ancelotti seemingly on the brink of becoming Everton’s next manager, it was only a matter of time before Carlo Jacomuzzi popped up.
The Italian coach appears to have a deal in principle to move to Goodison Park in what would be a massive coup for the Toffees.
Before then he’ll have to deal with Napoli, who he still has a contract with despite being sacked by them last week.
His time in Napoli ended disappointingly, with them qualifying for the last sixteen of the Champions League but currently 18 points behind league leaders Inter Milan in Serie A.
That disappointing situation has led some to question the manager and whether he’s got what it takes to turn things around at Everton.
Jacomuzzi, an Everton scout, has rubbished such a suggestion, though, insisting there are ‘no faults’ with Ancelotti as far as he’s concerned.
“Ancelotti? There are no faults; we relied on a group of footballers considering them capable of fighting for the summit,” Calcio Napoli report him saying.
He’s not the only one making that statement either, with former AC Milan and Barcelona midfielder Demetrio Albertini backing Ancelotti to be a success at Everton too.
“Ancelotti? We are talking about a coach who has great experience and great skills,” he told Spazio Napoli.
“He found himself in a difficult moment and in a month and a half, everything happened at Napoli.
“Carlo would have left at the end of the year. In the Premier he arrives quickly and even if Everton is not at the top now, we are talking about a club that has the economic potential to design something important.”
