It had been a while since we last saw Benfica midfielder Rafa Silva getting linked to Premier League clubs, but newspaper Record is back with the rumour today.

The outlet writes that the Eagles are ready to sell the player in the coming summer, as following another good season for the club, they feel like they should take the opportunity to cash in with his transfer.

English clubs are once again named as the player’s favourite destination, and Record recalls the past links he’s had with the likes of Everton and Newcastle United.

The newspaper says Rafa Silva had approaches from Premier League sides in the summer, and in the past, clubs such as the Toffees and the Magpies were the ones interested in him.

Record also managed to speak to Rafa Silva’s agent Antonio Araujo, who confirmed that playing in the Premier League is still one of the midfielder’s objectives.

“In our opinion, Rafa is ready for a higher level. This goes through a Premier League or a Spanish league.”

According to the report, Benfica would like to make €50m from the sale, and the good news for Everton and Newcastle is that this time, they’re willing to negotiate a discount if needed.
