Everton are showing an interest in Juventus goalkeeper Neto, according to claims in the Italian media. The Brazilian only joined Juventus last summer after also being linked with a move to Everton’s local rivals Liverpool.
Tuttosport have today revealed Everton are monitoring the situation with Neto as they look to bring in a replacement for Tim Howard. The 37-year-old will be returning to the USA this summer to join Colorado Rapids, and the Merseyside club are keen to bring in an experienced goalkeeper to fill the void.
Neto could look to leave Juventus this summer because he’s been unable to get the nod over veteran Gigi Buffon in the starting eleven, and a move to Everton would get his career back on track.
Neto has been linked with a move to Merseyside in the past and last year we covered reports that Liverpool were hoping to sign the South American from Fiorentina in order to replace Simon Mignolet.
There were claims at the time that Liverpool had offered Neto a pre-contract to join them last summer, but faced competition from other clubs. However, Liverpool dropped their interest in Neto, which allowed Juventus to land him.
