Everton would need to pay €15m if they want to sign Jan-Niklas Beste from Heidenheim this summer.
That’s according to Sport BILD, who continue to report that Everton are one of the sides interested in the winger.
Beste was one of the star men for Heidenheim last season, bagging eight goals and 13 assists in 31 games in the Bundesliga.
His contract is due to expire next summer, though, so there is a need for the club to either sign him to a new deal this year or sell him to avoid losing him on a free.
Everton have been credited with an interest in weeks with it reported at the end of last month that they had made a specific request for him and that followed up by another explaining that Heidenheim were standing firm in their demands for the player.
Sport BILD now put those demands at ‘around €15m’ and insist the poker game around him and teammate Tim Kleindienst ‘will drag on’ this summer.
Heidenheim want €15m for Beste and know he has suitors across Europe, with Besiktas, Fiorentina, Nice and Everton all showing an interest in him.
It seems none of them have offered that price or shown a willingness to do so, though, so it’s not anticipated the 25-year-old will be on the move any time soon.
There is plenty of time for the Toffees to raise those funds or change their minds and they’re definitely interested, with the price set and them needing to take the next steps.
