Everton are one of the clubs to have joined in the race for Tottenham Hotspur defender Japhet Tanganga, according to reports today.
The news comes from Italy, with outlet Inter Live claiming that as Inter Milan look for a defender, they’ve considered going after the Spurs player.
The problem is that Tanganga sounds more likely to stay in England, where Everton and Luton Town fight for his signing.
The newly promoted club are said to be leading the race, as they ‘push’ for a loan with an option to buy.
Everton are the other English side who ‘moved’ for his transfer, and Inter Live claims more news is ‘expected soon’.
Tanganga is not in Tottenham’s plans for the season, and hasn’t played a single minute in the first two rounds of the Premier League.
The defender has a contract with Spurs running until 2025, and is valued by Transfermarkt at €7m.
With Luton Town working for a loan with an option to buy, perhaps Everton could make a more convincing offer if they have the money for an outright purchase.
