Several Premier League clubs have been following Brazilian midfielder Gustavo Assunção, according to claims today.
It’s Spanish outlet AS who brings the news, reporting the Famalicão captain is standing out in Portugal and encouraging a big race for him.
The story claims that Everton, Manchester United and Wolverhampton Wanderers are three English sides who ‘carefully examine’ his performances for the Liga NOS side.
But they’re not alone in the competition, as Nice and Sevilla are interested as well, with the La Liga side’s sporting director Monchi having good information on the player.
The reason why AS has a big interest in Gustavo Assunção is that he’s the son of former Atletico Madrid midfielder Paulo Assunção. The 20-year-old was in the Colchonero’s academy, and decided to move to Portugal last year.
The report claims that the player should be leaving Famalicão in January or next summer. It’d cost €25m for any of Everton, Manchester United or Wolves to take him away from the Portuguese side.
