Jarrad Branthwaite would have a say if Everton decide to recall him from his loan spell at PSV Eindhoven early.
That’s according to Eindhovens Dagblad, relayed by PSV Fans, who say there ‘would be no panic’ should the youngster depart.
Branthwaite joined the Dutch side on loan in the summer in search of regular playing time that wasn’t on offer at Everton following the arrivals of James Tarkowski and Conor Coady.
He’s not been handed regular minutes by PSV boss Ruud van Nistelrooy, though, leading to recent reports that he could end up back at Goodison Park.
It’s been made clear that Everton have a clause in his loan deal to do just that, with PSV unable to stop it as it’s ‘contractually stipulated’ in the deal.
ED follow that up today, backing up the claim that PSV ‘could lose’ Branthwaite as early as January should the youngster fail to play a certain amount of games.
It does not appear likely he will reach that number, according to the newspaper, and while the Dutch side hope to keep him there would be ‘no panic’ if he departed.
They know it is ‘almost impossible’ to block a return to Everton, but the defender is also ‘said to have a say in his future’ as well.
In other words, he could make it clear he wants to stay in the Netherlands, even if Everton do decide they want to bring him back to Goodison Park in January.
