Everton are among the clubs in the picture to sign 1. FC Heidenheim’s Jan-Niklas Beste in the summer window, according to Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg.
The journalist took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to say a ‘transfer is still planned’ for the 25-year-old in the next window.
When discussing the winger’s interested parties, Everton are mentioned, along with Villarreal, Fiorentina, Genoa and Galatasaray.
Plettenberg says the Toffees and four other clubs have made ‘specific inquiries’ for Beste. He also adds ‘discussions are ongoing’, without making it clear whether Sean Dyche’s side are involved or if it’s between the player and the Bundesliga side.
Operating on the left wing, he scored eight goals and registered 14 assists from 32 games this season.
Beste’s contract lasts until 2025 and Heidenheim are hoping to collect €10m from his sale. That may not be the case and the Sky reporter claims the ‘realistic selling price’ is around €5-7m.
The attacker prefers to continue in the top division in Germany, and that makes it difficult for Everton to secure a bargain deal. Plettenberg makes no mention of any Bundesliga sides that have shown interest in Beste.
