Some Italian websites have a habit of throwing claims out without claiming an exclusive or saying where they’ve got it from.
There’s a mix of this in one of Calcio Mercato‘s articles today, as they claim Everton have made a €20m bid for Manolo Gabbiadini.
First, there are claims from Corriere Dello Sport saying the player isn’t happy at Napoli, which isn’t exactly something new.
Then they say there’s this new bid from the Toffees, even though it’s a smaller amount than the one which was offered during the summer.
But it’s a different situation now. Napoli would think about it this time, as they could use this money to buy Leonardo Pavoletti from Genoa.
So it’s not clear if the info about the bid is from Corriere Dello Sport or Calcio Mercato. We’ve checked the Corriere newspaper, and it’s not there. But we also think the website wouldn’t miss the opportunity to say they’ve got an exclusive. That’s why we aren’t too confident about this.
With only two goals this season, Gabbiadini isn’t impressing in Italy as the rumours of a departure only grow. A move seems very likely, and apart from Everton, Stoke City and West Ham have also been linked to him.
