Everton have offered to pay Youssef En-Nesyri’s contract until the end of the season to secure him on loan this month.
That’s according to journalist Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, who provides details on the transfer today. Everton have been linked with the Moroccan striker throughout the last week.
Reports from England and Türkiye have indicated that Fenerbahce are willing to do a deal for the striker this month. That’s alerted suitors around Europe, including in the Premier League.
Everton are one of them, alongside Nottingham Forest. Indeed, the Toffees could even do a deal involving Beto as Fenerbahçe are believed to have shown an interest in him.
Sabuncuoğlu now provides the details on Everton’s approach for En-Nesyri. He reports that Everton have offered to pay his wages until the end of the season. That would cost them €4.5m. Fenerbahce have accepted this, but the striker is not yet convinced about the move to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The journalist then reports that Everton have included an option to buy the striker at the end of the season. That’s set at €20m. So, they want a loan until the end of the season then the option to buy if it goes well. All in, it would cost them €24.5m.
Everton may face unusual issue
The big obstacle appears to be En-Nesyri. Various reports have indicated that he doesn’t fancy a move to England because of the weather. This came up twice when he was recently linked with a move to Nottingham Forest. It was also an issue when he was at Sevilla and the club wanted to accept a West Ham offer.
Indeed, journalist Murat Aşık repeated that today. Fener Ajans report him saying that En-Nesyri has told Fenerbahçe he wants to go “to a place where I can wear sandals.”
Everton, then, might have some convincing to do. At this moment in time, it’s hard to see how the Toffees will be able to talk En-Nesyri into the move.
