Everton now seem to be one of the candidates to sign Wilfried Gnonto from Leeds United this summer.
It’s the Italian media who’s been keeping an eye on the 19-year-old’s future, with Gazzetta Dello Sport today highlighting the race for his signing.
In their newspaper edition on Tuesday, they covered interest from Goodison Park and now they have updated the situation.
It’s claimed that Everton and Freiburg are the clubs who have actually made ‘concrete moves’ to sign Gnonto from Leeds.
The Toffees and the Bundesliga side reportedly made initial contact with the Whites to get information on the player.
According to Gazzetta, Leeds demand between €15m and €20m let the youngster leave this summer.
The report highlights that Everton would provide the player the chance to continue in the Premier League, although it’s not made clear whether the Toffees are ready to match the Whites’ demands.
Following Leeds’ relegation, the Italian media had been claiming that Serie A sides were chasing Gnonto, and this report says Inter Milan are ‘at the window’. However, any move from them would only be at the end of the window when they’ve got other business sorted out.
That could benefit Everton.
