Everton have made their move for FC Lorient forward Dango Ouattara, but their first bid has been deemed ‘insufficient’.
That’s according to journalist Ignazio Genuardi, who says the Blues will have to up their offer for the 20-year-old if they wish to sign him this month.
Everton are determined to add to their forward line in the January transfer window, having struggled for goals so far this season.
They’ve subsequently been linked with a number of targets and Ouattara is one of them after impressing for Lorient this season, scoring six and assisting six in 17 games in Ligue 1.
The Blues are one of several Premier League sides interested in the youngster and according to Genuardi after Leicester and Bournemouth’s approaches ‘it is the turn of Everton to attack’ for him.
He reports that in parallel to negotiations for Arnaut Danjuma and Anthony Elanga, the Toffees have ‘sent an offer’ for the highly rated Lorient youngster.
The nature of this bid isn’t made clear but it has been deemed as ‘insufficient’ by Lorient. He insists ‘the track remains active’, though, suggesting Everton will return with an improved bid sooner rather than later.
#Mercato
