Everton remain interested in a deal for Real Betis midfielder Guido Rodriguez but could now face competition from rivals Liverpool for his signature.
That’s according to Fichajes.net, who say the midfielder’s performances have the Premier League duo on alert about his availability.
They explain that Rodriguez has been putting in ‘impeccable performances’ this season and Betis ‘run the risk of losing him’ in either January or next summer as a result.
They managed to keep their star man last summer despite interest from the Premier League, when both Everton and Liverpool were linked.
Indeed, at one point it was claimed Betis were waiting for Everton to sign him, while it was explained back in 2021 that if Liverpool made a big bid the player couldn’t turn it down.
Neither move happened but his contract only runs until 2024 and unless he signs a new deal, Betis risk losing out on millions on him if they don’t sell next summer.
His great performance against Roma last night ‘put him even more in the shop window’ and it’s felt Everton and Liverpool will have taken notice as they are still looking for a midfielder to provide balance to their squads.
That’s left Betis fearing the worst but if they are to sell, they will look for at least €30m before sanctioning a departure.
Whether that’s a price either of the Merseyside sides would pay isn’t clear, but the interest remains, and his good performances are only increasing it.
