Premier League side Everton had an official at Estádio da Luz watching the match between Benfica and Portimonense last night, according to Portuguese newspaper Record.

The Toffees have been making several scouting missions in Portugal lately, so there’s nothing unusual going on there.

What’s actually weird is that Everton were the only club with an official in this match. Record points out that Benfica’s previous game had 35 scouts.

That’s a proof that Marco Silva’s side are really focused on finding someone in the Portuguese league, since it didn’t look like an attractive game for other clubs who usually have scouts there.

Benfica thrashed Portimonense 4-0, with goals scored by André Almeida, Ruben Dias and Carlos Vinícius, with the Brazilian getting a brace and being picked as the man of the match.

Both of the Eagles fullbacks André Almeida and Alex Grimaldo, had their performances praised by the local media. Striker Chiquinho had a great display as well.

With so many players doing good, we wonder which one of them may have caught Everton’s eyes.
