Everton and Leicester City have made enquiries for Palmeiras defensive midfielder Richard Ríos.
That’s according to UOL, who reports that the Premier League duo have been asking about the 24-year-old ahead of a potential move for him.
The Brazilian outlet explains that after being one of the ‘main highlights’ for Palmeiras over the last year, the midfielder has now received ‘some queries’ from Europe in the last few days.
The two most recent ones came from Everton and Leicester, who have both seemingly contacted Palmeiras about a potential move. UOL also say that Everton are interested in Juventus’ Arthur.
The focus right now appears to be on Ríos, though, as he impressed at the Copa América for Colombia, who made it to the final but were beaten by Argentina.
At the moment Palmeiras have ‘no great interest’ in negotiating a deal for Río, currently valuing him at €15-20m.
He currently has a contract with the Verdão until December 2026, with Palmeiras owning 70% of his economic rights and the rest divided between Guarani (16%), Flamengo (4%) and the player himself (10%).
Palmeiras, therefore, seemingly want to drive up his price as much as they can to ensure a healthy return on a player who cost them €1.38m in March last year.
Everton and Leicester are yet to make bids, but their interest has been registered and he’s now a name to keep an eye on moving forwards.
