Everton and Leicester City are two clubs who have their names often mentioned in the Portuguese rumour mill, and their scouting missions show they’re indeed keeping an eye on the country.
According to newspaper A Bola, Toffees and Foxes officials were back at the Estádio da Luz this Saturday, where they watched Benfica playing Porto.
It was the away side who had a great performance this time, winning 2-0 with goals score by Zé Luís and Moussa Marega.
Most of Porto’s team put on a great exhibition, especially the likes of Pepe, Fernando Uribe and Luis Diaz. For Benfica, only goalkeeper Odisseas Vlachodimos was praised for his game.
Since Marco Silva’s arrival at Everton, the Toffees have been scouting an impressive number of games in Portugal. They’ve recently been linked to Benfica right-back Nuno Tavares and Porto striker Moussa Marega.
Things are not different with Leicester City, since they’ve also been watching a lot of Portuguese football, as well as being linked to Moussa Marega and a Benfica right-back. Difference is that the Foxes were said to be interested in André Almeida, who stayed on the bench this time.
The other clubs who had officials at this match were Barcelona, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Juventus, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Chelsea, Sheffield Wednesday, Real Betis, Sevilla, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig.
