Everton and Leicester City are both interested in the signing of Barcelona defender Arnau Comas, according to reports from Spain.

With the 21-year-old’s contract with the La Liga side expiring at the end of the season, the Premier League duo are said to be keen on signing him for free in the summer.

The interest from Toffees and Foxes is reported by Cadena Ser, and when covering the claims, outlet Sport makes sure to clarify that the move is unlikely for now.

Their piece first points out that Comas’ contract with Barcelona includes an option to extend it for two more years, which means he may not even be a free agent at the end of the season.

Plus it’s also claimed that Comas’ intention is to succeed at Barcelona, and that means he’ll work hard to finally get a chance to prove himself in the first team.

Should the defender not get the opportunities he wants, however, then he’ll evaluate the options of moving to the Premier League sides.

So as things stand, it sounds like Everton and Leicester City’s chances depend on how long Comas’ patience lasts at the Camp Nou.
