Earlier on Monday we covered claims from Brazil which stated Everton are set to make an offer to try and secure Arthur Melo this summer.
Those claims backed up previous reports in Italy, with Everton named as one of a few Premier League clubs who are keen on the Juventus midfielder.
After a difficult season on loan at Liverpool, the Brazilian returned to Juve last summer and was then sent out on loan to Fiorentina That period went much better but La Viola don’t want to invest the finances needed, on fee and wages, to make the move permanent.
Tuttosport, a newspaper local to Juventus, now say Everton are ahead of all others for Arthur. The Toffees are said to be out in front of Wolves and Newcastle United.
Federico Pastorello, the player’s agent, is trying to find the best solution, and presumably a move to Everton, Wolves or Newcastle would be welcomed.
The teams managed by Sean Dyche, Gary O’Neil and Eddie Howe are all considering going through with the deal, and it sounds like Pastorello must have been hard at work trying to convince them.
For Everton, Weston McKennie is also brought up again. Juve seem to believe they may be able to send a cast-off to Goodison Park this summer.
