Last week, Gazzetta dello Sport were confident that West Ham and Sunderland are emerging as suitors for AS Roma’s Artem Dovbyk. Everton are now thrown into the mix.

The striker was being offered around by the Italian club, who want to sign a replacement. The Ukrainian’s exit can hand them enough finances to fund other incomings next month.

Today’s Corriere dello Sport claim that West Ham and Everton are ‘hot on his trail’, with Dovbyk very likely to leave in January.

Roma tried to sell the 28-year-old in the summer but were unsuccessful. A swap deal with AC Milan involving Santiago Gimenez was about to go through, but in the final stages the move collapsed. Now, attempts are ongoing at the Stadio Olimpico to find Dovbyk a new destination.

It’s believed that in early November, Roma made it clear to Everton and West Ham that €25m will be needed from his sale. That would mean they don’t record a loss on the deal.

Another report from Corriere dello Sport reports uncertainty around the ex-Girona player is growing.

Gian Piero Gasperini claimed on Sunday that he was absent agaoinst Genoa due to injury. However, there’s belief his potential sale is the real reason.

This will only help Everton, who have previously been linked with a swap deal involving Beto. Now, it seems like the idea of signing the Ukraine international on a permanent deal is gaining traction.
