On April 30th, Corriere Torino stated Everton are one of the clubs interested in Juventus’ Merih Demiral.
It was also explained the player’s agents ‘have been talking’ to the Merseyside club ‘for weeks’.
It’s no secret the 23-year-old could be on his way out of the Turin club in the summer, after Juve resisted approaches made by other clubs in the past.
This is again relayed by Calciomercato, who say the centre-back is no longer ‘non-transferable’ and the Old Lady would ‘carefully evaluate’ his sale, if there is an ‘important offer’. There’s no suggestion of what figure would make the proposal ‘important’.
Demiral’s future will also depend on Giorgio Chiellini’s plans after this season. The 36-year-old Italian has just over a month left on his contract and it’s not clear whether he will continue to play next season or decide to retire.
According to the report, Chiellini is expected to make a decision in June and only then will plans for Juve’s defence be made.
Everton are interested in Demiral and if their proposal can convince Juve, a deal is there to be concluded.
