Everton are one of the teams keen on signing Richarlison from Tottenham this summer and may have an advantage in the race.

That’s at least according to Jorge Nicola, who reports that Everton are looking at bringing their former star back to the club this summer.

The journalist covers reports in Brazil surrounding Richarlison today, which have claimed that Tottenham are looking to move him on and Brazilian trio Palmeiras, Fluminense and Flamengo are interested in taking him back to his homeland.

It appears that Spurs have grown tired of waiting for Richarlison to prove his worth, with a €58m move from Everton yet to work out as numerous injuries have limited his time on the pitch.

It’s been a disappointing spell for the 27-year-old, who previously starred at Goodison Park and managed 53 goals and 13 assists in 152 games for Everton during his time there.

Reports in England have suggested that they would be more than happy to welcome him back and Nicola insists this is the case. He even suggests they might have an advantage, as their Brazilian rivals couldn’t afford the deal that Tottenham would presumably want.

“I can rule out Palmeiras being interested in Richarlison. When Verdão spends 155 million reais to buy Vitor Roque, they stop looking for the player,” he said.

“Regarding Flamengo and Fluminense, the question I leave is how can they buy a player who arrived at Tottenham at a cost of €58m?

“Even if Tottenham admits a loss and loses, for example €18m, Richardson would still cost €40m. This number is completely out of line with the reality of any football club in Brazil.

“Not to mention Pombo’s salary. Richarlison earns around R$3,900,000 at Tottenham, much higher than the salary of any active player in the country.”

“Just to top it off… It’s important to mention that Everton, where Richardson has already excelled, also in England, is one of the teams interested in buying the player in the middle of the year.”
