Marseille forward Bamba Dieng has been offered to Everton this summer, with Fulham and Newcastle United also sent a proposal.

That’s according to L’Equipe, who say Marseille are looking to get rid of the striker and looking towards the English market.

They explain that Marseille chief Pablo Longoria and his intermediaries are ‘scouring’ the Premier League in an attempt to get Dieng out of the club this summer.

The player would like to stay at the club but those in charge prefer otherwise and a series of events, such as rumours about weight gain and being left out of the squad for games, are pushing the 22-year-old ‘towards the exit’.

Three English clubs, Everton, Fulham and Newcastle, are ‘watching his situation’ and ‘have spoken’ with both the staff at Marseille and the player’s entourage.

However, Everton are yet to register an interest in the player while Fulham and Newcastle have decided that a striker is not at the top of their list at this point in the summer transfer window.

Should they turn to Dieng, Longoria is hoping to bring in €12-15m from any potential deal.

For now, Dieng would prefer to stay where he is but if he is forced out he would rather continue his career in France as he thinks he has more development to do and can achieve it in Ligue 1.

There is an option for him to stay too, with Nice ‘assiduously courting’ him and ready to make an offer of a loan with an option to buy. Dieng would be open to that switch.

That wouldn’t suit Marseille, though, who could do with funds coming into the squad. Thus, Longoria has ‘crisscrossed’ the English market with intermediaries pushing Dieng’s name for him.

Everton have made it clear that they’re not keen but Fulham and Newcastle remain options, although neither are pushing at this moment in time.
