It’s now Everton’s time to be linked to the Sporting defender Rúben Semedo.
Although we haven’t seen any reports from Portugal covering this interest, Calciomercato are claiming the Toffes have been following the 22-year-old.
With a €45m release clause and a contract running until 2022, Semedo is one of the Sporting players who won’t leave the Portuguese club so easily.
The player was already linked to Chelsea earlier this week, as Blues’ officials have already travelled to Portugal to watch the player closely.
And interestingly, the player was also linked to Southampton at the end of last season, when the now Everton manager Ronald Koeman was still in charge of the Saints.
Semedo has already started nine games for Sporting this season, so it would be very unlikely to see the Lions keen on a January sale.
The player spent half of last season on loan at Vitória Guimarães, but when he returned to the club at the start of the year, he grabbed a place and never left the team.
