AS Monaco are the latest club to show an interest in Inter Milan midfielder Ever Banega, according to claims in the Italian media. The Argentine could be offloaded by the Serie A side in the new year, and has been linked with a move to Ronald Koeman’s Everton in recent days.

Calciomercato have today revealed Banega may need to find a new club next month because recently installed Inter Milan manager Stefano Pioli is struggling to fit him into his system. Banega was signed by former coach Roberto Mancini during the last transfer window from Sevilla, but it seems his stay at the San Siro could be a short one.

Inter Milan signed the playmaker for a small fee from the Spanish side, but are hoping to get €10m for him in order to help with FFP.

Everton have been linked with Banega this week as manager Koeman looks to bring some creativity to his midfield. Everton were criticised for their lack of activity in the last transfer window, and could be hoping to add to the squad next month.

However, it’s claimed Everton will face stiff competition from Monaco who are going strong in the French league, and are also through to the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Inter’s transfer plans change by the week, and in recent times their managers have changed frequently too. Since Mancini there’s been Frank De Boer, and now Stefano Pioli.

Pioli’s system could change, Pioli could be changed, anything can happen at Inter to turn things around. Should Ronald Koeman have interest in signing any Inter player for Everton then it’s always worth giving it a go, there’s often a decent chance the Italians could say yes to a deal they’d later regret.
