According to Calciomercato, Jesper Lindstrom and Napoli are set to split ‘in the next few hours’, with the player joining Everton on loan for the coming season.

Napoli’s transfer chief Giovanni Manna has reached a complete agreement with the Premier League club. That will see Lindstrom move on loan with a ‘right of redemption’ set at €25m.

That would mean it’s not a mandatory clause, and there’s no mention yet of achievements (potentially qualifying for Europe) which would make it so.

Calciomercato describe the transfer as an ‘intelligent operation’ for Napoli. They paid Eintracht Frankfurt €30m for Lindstrom in summer 2023, and the move hasn’t worked out.

Napoli has been something of a football basket case since they won Serie A and the transfer failing, as others from last summer did, probably shouldn’t weigh too heavily on the 24-year-old.

Calciomercato report personal terms will be discussed in the coming hours and it’s not thought that will be problem.

There’s no mention of a loan fee, although that could come out later.
