There needs to be some clarification regarding the Allan and Everton situation that’s been brewing over the past 24 hours or so.
On Monday, we saw reports the Toffees were ‘launching a £17m offer’ for the Brazilian player ahead of the summer, but Napoli wanted double that, with Corriere del Mezzogiorno put down as the source.
We decided to have a look, and we found the article, and while it’s said a €20m offer was made, it was done so in January, with the Serie A side rejecting it.
Aurelio De Laurentiis decided not to sell his midfielder midway through the season, which means interested parties, like Everton will have to wait until the summer, as Corriere dello Sport are suggesting.
On Sunday, the Italian newspaper stated ‘his transfer in June is likely’, with Inter and Carlo Ancelotti’s side touted as the expected clubs to come knocking.
A lot will probably depend on where Everton finish the season, but with the former Napoli manager stabilising and revamping the Goodison Park side after taking over from Marco Silva, there’s hope a European spot can now be clinched.
That will go a long way to convince the Brazilian if and when the time comes, but it must be said the Premier League club will need a bit more than €20m if they are to get De Laurentiis to agree to a sale.
