Fanatik yesterday claimed Turkish press Cenk Tosun would be joining Everton for €25m, and his transfer to the Premier League side would be announced soon.

It was reported Tosun would be joining Everton on a 4 and a half year deal in the next window.

However, Fotomac say Everton’s offer was actually €20m and this hasn’t pleased Besiktas president Fikret Orman.

Orman yesterday confirmed: “Cenk is like our son. He’s a person that we care very much about. But we don’t want to sell him at the moment. Even if we want to sell, then €20m is not enough to get him. I think he’s worth more than that.”

This €20m offered by Everton is seen in the Turkish media as a bargaining tactic by the Merseyside club, and many Besiktas journalists suggest a deal is very close despite Orman concerns over the offer received from the English club

Besiktas are already in talks to bring a replacement with former Newcastle United striker Demba Ba close to agreeing a return to the Turkish champions, and Tosun’s time with the Turkish side seems to be coming to an end.
