If there’s one thing the arrival of Carlo Ancelotti at Goodison Park has managed, other than redress the situation left by Marco Silva, it’s increase the club’s stature on the transfer market.

Ever since the Italian manager took over at Goodison Park, bigger names have been linked, such is the reputation the former Chelsea manager has in the world of football.

Still, it remains a little bit jarring to see Everton linked with players such as Kalidou Koulibaly, who are normally pushed to clubs like Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.

Nevertheless, Gazzetta dello Sport insist that Ancelotti, who worked with the Senegalese during his time at Napoli, would like to bring him to Merseyside.

The Italian newspaper look at Koulibaly’s situation once again, since he is now expected to miss the return leg against Barcelona in the Champions League, and muse what his future could look like.

They explain the 28-year-old showed his true worth in the two games against Liverpool, and how he would fare against Premier League opposition.

Everton and Manchester United are named as the two interested sides from England, as are Paris Saint-Germain in France, and it’s revealed Aurelio De Laurentiis ‘won’t avoid negotiations, even if numbers would need to be high’.

Earning €6m/year, the player would come at a pricey cost, and while it might not be as elevated as last year, it would still be a considerable investment, with some putting forward figures of around €100m.

Perhaps a bit too much for Everton, to be fair.
