Everton have ‘inquired’ about the situation around Juventus youngster Koni de Winter and if he would be available this summer.

That’s according to Tutto Juve, who say that Everton and Lille have asked about the 21-year-old and a potential deal.

They explain that De Winter returned from his holidays on Wednesday and is continuing his preparation ahead of the new season.

The belief is that he will be a part of Juventus’ plans for this season, with the Italian giants holding him in ‘high esteem’ and they have been considering his future in the first team for a while.

The first step on that process will be including him in the pre-season tour of the United States, during which he will be given his chance to impress Massimiliano Allegri and his team.

That is yet to happen, though, and Everton, alongside French side Lille, have ‘inquired about his situation’ this summer.

They are interested in ‘furthering the discussions’ about the player in the coming weeks in the event that he is potentially put up for sale.

De Winter has long been linked with a move to the Premier League but never to Everton, so their interest in him appears to be new.

He fits with the Blues apparent plans to target younger players moving forwards, as has been seen in their interest in the likes of El Bilal Toure and Anthony Elanga.

With suggestions that the likes of Mason Holgate could be moved on as well, perhaps they are eyeing him as a replacement, although the idea is yet to go beyond an initial request for information.
