Juventus signed Federico Gati in January 2022 from Frosinone, and immediately loaned him back to the Serie B club for the remainder of the season.

He was considered the best defender in SerieB, having arrived in professional football at a later date than most and fighting his way up the categories.

In the Juventus squad this season, the 24-year-old obviously hasn’t had the same level of minutes he was getting last season and that’s seen some transfer rumours grow.

SerieBNews report Everton and West Ham are ‘considering the option’ of paying the player’s €30m valuation and tempting him to move to England.

Everton are expected to see changes in their defensive options in the summer, with Yerry Mina close to leaving the Merseyside club. But whether Sean Dyche would be keen on Gati would be another thing entirely, and this could be an agent playing games.

On top of that, there’s the price. Juventus paid €7.5m, plus a further €2.25m in potential bonuses, just over a year ago and it would be a stretch to push that to €30m now, so Everton would likely feel Gati is overpriced.
