Everton are considered the ‘most logical’ step for PSV Eindhoven star Denzel Dumfries this summer, with their interest coming via Marcel Brands.

That’s according to Eindhoven Dagblad, who say the Everton director was ‘charmed’ by Dumfries during his time in charge at PSV.

He would now like to bring him to Goodison Park as the Blues look to sign a right-back and long-term replacement for Seamus Coleman.

The newspaper explains that Dumfries has developed into one of PSV’s most important players in recent years, especially during a difficult campaign last season where he chipped in with two goals and six assists.

They are expecting there to be interest in the 25-year-old this summer as a result and have already ‘anticipated’ bids.

One of the ‘candidates’ to sign him are Everton, who need a right-back and whose transfer business is directed by Brands.

Before that, he was in charge at PSV, and during his time, there was ‘already charmed’ by Dumfries.

That is where the interest comes from this summer, and a fee of around €15m would fit perfectly within the Blues budget.

Dumfries is keen on a move this summer and indicated as much in January, and PSV are willing to give it to him so long as they receive a fee in the region of that figure.
