The German media today reveals Everton’s interest in Union Berlin forward Sheraldo Becker.
The report comes from Sky Germany (via Fussball Transfers), who says the Toffees have ‘tried’ to sign the Dutchman.
The story doesn’t mention how much Everton would need to pay for the signing, despite saying that his contract with Union Berlin does include a release clause, and he could ‘still leave’ them this month.
Becker is having a good season for the Bundesliga side so far, and has eight goals and six assists in 26 appearances. So it’s no surprise that his market value is currently at its peak, with Transfermarkt valuing him at €15m.
The striker has recently signed a new contract with Union Berlin, now having a deal until the summer of 2025, which is a very good reason for the German side to be tough in any negotiations.
Despite being also used as a right-winger in the past, Becker has only played centrally this season, both as a second striker and as a centre-forward, and could help Everton to find the goals they need to escape relegation under Sean Dyche.
