Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik will be looking for a new club in January, and a move to Everton ‘remains possible’ for him.

That’s according to Calciomercato, who say a move is ‘fundamental’ if the player is to go to the European Championships with Poland.

Milik has found himself out of the picture at Napoli since the summer, when the Italian side failed to sell him despite a concerted effort and several offers.

He has not made a single appearance for the club since, having been left out of manager Gennaro Gattuso’s squad lists for Serie A and the Europa League.

With his contract expiring next summer the Italian club are keen to move him on in January to ensure they get some sort of fee, as opposed to him leaving on a free.

And Calciomercato say they will continue their efforts to find a new club in the winter window, with the player also aware that he has no chance of playing in the European Championships if he does not secure one.

Napoli are asking for €18m for their man, but so far no team has ‘come forward in a concrete way’ despite there being interest.

They are determined to sell and have no intention of ‘giving up the striker’ after he postponed signing a new deal and then turned down a €30m move to Fiorentina.

Fortunately for both, there is still interest in him, with Atlético Madrid having started talking to his agent a few weeks ago.

Similarly, moves to Everton and Fiorentina ‘remain possible’ for him, although there’s no indication that they’ve been in touch with his agent or the club.

Everton, of course, have a good relationship with Napoli after signing Allan in the summer but it is unlikely they would be willing to pay anywhere near the €18m they’re asking for.

Indeed, that is a big price for any club to pay given his contract is expiring, and unless that changes drastically, it’s hard to see him moving anywhere.
