Everton and West Ham have ‘officially expressed their interest’ in N’Golo Kante and made it clear that they’d be comfortable paying a fee for him.
That’s according to Sabah. They say that Everton and West Ham have entered the battle for the French star.
He’s been linked with a move to Fenerbahçe, who have been working on a deal for weeks. The problem is that the Turkish side are not in favour of paying a high fee. Indeed, as far as Fenerbahçe are concerned, they’d rather not pay any kind of fee at all.
That’s because Kante’s deal at Al-Ittihad expires in the summer.
That’s seen Everton and West Ham enter the picture. Representatives from both clubs have officially expressed their interest in the midfielder. They have also informed the player that there would be no problems regarding the transfer fee. There’s no mention of what that fee is.
But their emergence as suitors has Sabah believing that the race for Kante’s signature could intensify in the coming days. Clubs from Ligue 1 are also preparing official offers for the 34-year-old.
It seems Kante will have plenty of options on the table this month. The question is whether Everton and West Ham are genuinely interested.
Everton and West Ham may be being used to pressure Fener

The Toffees already have Idrissa Gana Gueye in midfield, and he’s 36-years-old. Adding 34-year-old N’Golo Kante to the mix would certainly be eye raising. West Ham, meanwhile, are well stocked with midfielders and could arguably do with spending their money elsewhere.
We’re dubious about this one for now. It feels more like an attempt to pressure Fenerbahçe than anything concrete. Panicking the Istanbul club into parting ways with a few million looks like a reasonable plan.
Judging by the Turkish media, the panic part of it has worked.
