Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis is continuing his efforts to buy Vasco, with a meeting scheduled for representatives of both parties.

That’s according to journalist Lucas Pedrosa, who report that a meeting will be held between intermediaries representing Marinakis and Vasco either at the end of February or the beginning of March.

Pedrosa reports that Vasco received contact from Marinakis’ representatives and arranged a meeting with the Greek magnate’s group for later this month.

Two representatives from intermediary Giuliano Bertolucci’s’ office are currently in London and have scheduled the meeting with the board, which should take place in England.

Vasco’s board are expecting a concrete conversation with the Nottingham Forest owner as he looks to buy or invest in a club in Brazil. The belief is that this will lead to a proposal from Marinakis and his group.

Conversations regarding the potential deal have been postponed because of Nottingham Forest’s superb campaign so far, which has them sitting in the top four of the Premier League.

The idea had been for a sit-down meeting with Marinakis or his representatives to discuss his potential investment in a more concrete manner. That would have been focused on values and the sports project and then led to a more formal proposal from him.

That hasn’t happened as yet, and Vasco are talking to other interested parties, but it seems the Nottingham Forest owner wants to step things up and a meeting will be held later this month or at the beginning of March as a result.
