It’s no surprise to see Swiss striker Haris Seferovic being involved in transfer rumours this week.
Following his two goals against France in the Euros’ last 16, the Benfica player is clearly in the spotlight for the rest of the tournament, and the Eagles have been obviously attentive to the situation, which, according to newspaper Correio da Manhã, has led them to now double the asking price for the 29-year-old.
The outlet writes that before the Euro, there had already been a few approaches for the striker, with Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers both making contacts for his signing.
At that stage, Benfica were only asking €15m for the move, but now with this new situation, the demand is of €30m.
Correio da Manhã claims that even though Seferovic has already admitted he’s feeling fine in Portugal, he actually dreams of playing in the Premier League.
So even though the newspaper doesn’t have any information on more recent contacts made by Everton and Wolverhampton, it’s clear that the Toffees and Wolves would probably count on the player’s will to make the move to get a deal over the line.
The striker had 26 goals and seven assists for Benfica this season, and is protected by a release clause of €60m.
At least Everton and Wolves don’t have to pay full-price, eh?
