Ajax’s search for a new striker looks to be over following claims Chelsea have agreed to loan the Dutch side Bertrand Traore for the season.
Ajax have been keen to bring in a forward before the transfer window, and earlier this week had been linked with Sheffield Wednesday star Atdhe Nuhiu.
De Telegraaf have reported this morning Chelsea and Ajax have come to an agreement for Traore to join Ajax on a seasons. Ajax have been in the market to sign a forward ever since Arek Milik was sold to Serie A side Napoli.
The Dutch side had put togeter a list of 15 possible targets to replace the Poland international, and it now seems Traore was one of their prime forward targets.
In the past few days we’ve covered reports from Holland Ajax could look to move in on Nuhiu before the transfer deadline. Ajax had drawn up a list of 15 strikers they would like to target, and with Traore set for a move to Amsterdam it’s unlikely they will now pursue Nuhiu.
However, Sheffield Wednesday still face a fight to keep hold of the player following reports Bundesliga sides Hamburg and Werder Bremen are interested in the 27-year-old.
