After a successful spell at Bologna, Dan Ndoye hasn’t really made a mark at Nottingham Forest. The Switzerland international cost over €40m, and has scored twice in all competitions whilst adding one assist.

That is quite different to how last season was, as he scored in Bologna’s Coppa Italia final win over AC Milan. Previously, he had also helped the club qualify for the Champions League under Thiago Motta.

Ndoye also played in the Champions League and it’s now claimed he could leave Nottingham Forest given the absence of European football.

Calciomercato IT report on this possibility. They believe the 25-year-old might not be entirely happy with how things are going at the City Ground.

Sean Dyche’s side are in a relegation battle and Ndoye would ideally want to compete at the higher end of the table instead.

If things continue, he could leave Nottingham Forest in the summer. Napoli are said to be interested, having tried to sign him months ago.

The report hypes Ndoye’s skillset, praising his pace and how he is versatile enough to play as a striker.

Nottingham Forest could be satisfied with a loan and an option to buy in the summer. That’s if he pushed for a move, or they’re relegated. This would favour Napoli and help them sign a player that Antonio Conte likes.

Nottingham Forest player shock Italian media in summer

The report seems quite presumptuous, though. It is probably based on the fact that Napoli approached Dyche’s side for a swap involving Ndoye and Lorenzo Lucca.

Nottingham Forest quickly dismissed the idea, which should put an end to the talk around Ndoye for this window.

The Italian media appeared somewhat offended in the summer when Napoli were beaten to the transfer by Forest, and therefore have been waiting for a chance to explain how it was all a big mistake.
