The name Zion Atta might not mean a lot to you right now, Crystal Palace fans, but he’s one that could in the future.
The young winger, who holds both English and Italian citizenship, has attracted a lot of attention recently, with claims from England that some of the big guns in the Premier League were going after him.
However, the hype has also reached abroad, with Gazzetta dello Sport claiming AS Roma have also started lurking in the shadows.
The newspaper covers the interest in a big feature looking at who some of the big teams in Italy could be looking for going forward in terms of young and exciting prospects as they plan for the future, and Crystal Palace youngster is mentioned in the Europa League side’s column.
While OGC Nice’s Amine Gouiri is top of their list, other names are thrown around, including that of Zion Atta, with it said Roma have ‘set their eyes’ on the 16-year-old.
That’s all they have to say for now, but with an Italian citizenship, there would be no fear of a non-EU slot being taken following Brexit, which could be one of the reasons why he’s so attractive to Tiago Pinto and co.
Either way, one to file to one side for now, but certainly one to keep an eye on all the same.
